Today, the PSHE Association emailed their members to announce that the 1decision programme had received the Quality Mark.
Here is what the PSHE Association had to say…
‘1decision is a modular PSHE programme for pupils at Key Stage 1 and early Key Stage 2.
This resource aims, as part of a planned programme of PSHE education, to help primary pupils to develop the essential characteristics which will enable them to manage different influences and pressures in their lives, to manage their emotions and to make safe, responsible and informed choices.
Recently updated, 1decision has been assessed against our latest best practice criteria and awarded our Quality Mark for PSHE resources. 1decision module themes include: staying safe, staying healthy, relationships, online safety, emotional wellbeing, money matters and hazard awareness. The programme includes a variety of materials to aid teaching in the classroom, including a series of videos with alternative endings designed to allow children to experience and understand various situations in a safe environment.
Annual subscription to 1decision allows access to this range of resources, including teacher guidance, videos, pupil workbooks and assessment materials.’
PSHE Association Subject Specialist, Karen Summers says:
“Each module focuses on the key skills and characteristics involved in making healthy and informed choices, such as managing emotions, making responsible choices and managing peer pressure. 1decision covers many different aspects of personal safety, emotional and physical wellbeing, healthy relationships and personal responsibility.
Pupils are given a variety of opportunities to consolidate and reflect upon their learning through the use of video clips, pupil activity sheets, workbooks and interactive materials.
Clearly written teacher guidance, together with engaging materials, enables this resource to make a valuable contribution to a rigorous PSHE programme.
1decision supports aspects of all three core themes – ‘Health and Wellbeing’, ‘Relationships’ and ‘Living in the wider world’ – of the PSHE Association Programme of Study for PSHE education and develops a range of key skills and attributes outlined in the Programme of Study.”
